U14B vs Woodhouse Grove

31 - 0

No of Tries 5

Denstone 14Bs were magnificent in defeating Woodhouse Grove, scoring 5 tries in the process and visibly growing in confidence as the match went on.

The forwards and back row were on excellent form contesting every ruck relentlessly and ensuring several turn overs, not allowing the opposition any time to get organized. The side were helped by the addition of the Nat Fitton-Born, Nathan and Charlie Edwards and David Turkington, the latter who got the side of to a great start with two tremendous individual efforts in the first 5 minutes. However even when he was replaced by Barney Britton the side continued to play on the front foot and were resolute in defence when the need arose. Oliver Collins was especially effective making excellent yardage on several occasions to relieve pressure and take the game to the opponents. However, the side had to wait until the second half before adding to their lead when Nat Fitton-Born broke free to break the WHG backline and score under the posts. Captain Max Houston was on target with the boot converting 3 of the 5 tries scored. Great work by full back Jake Watson who broke up a WHG attack which led to a fifth try with excellent support play from Oliver Collins scoring under the posts. Special mentions to Louie Durose and Barney Britton who along with Jamie Betteley put their bodies on the line to keep the opposition at bay

Player of the match went to Oliver Collins.
