Foremarke Invitational Tournament

Played 5, lost 5

0 for 19 against (in total)

A tough day at the Foremark tournament for the U13B team.

The U13B team started the tournament knowing that they were in a very tough group that included the Foremark A team and a team from Beeston hockey club. In the early matches, they struggled to clear their lines under sustained pressure from the opposition. The team were very grateful to goalkeeper Uma Rolland-Cooper, who was in brilliant form throughout the day, showing agility and bravery to save shots from all over the circle.

As the tournament progressed, the team grew in confidence and learned from the advice offered by 1st XI players Abi Evans and Eden Collier. Grace Lister and Bertie Thorpe began to read the opposition attacks well and made some good clearances. Annabel Rowley made good use of her energy and fearless attitude, covering ground all over the pitch, tackling fiercely and running with bravery at defensive short corners. Fiona Haldar adapted well to playing in an unfamiliar attacking position and worked hard to make the most of limited opportunities.

Overall, the team maintained a positive attitude throughout the day and should take a lot from the progress that they made through the tournament.

Player of the match went to Uma Rolland-Cooper
