Foremarke Invitational Tournament

Played 4 - Drew 2, lost 2.

0 for 3 (in total)

Some tight matches for the U13A team at a competitive tournament.

The U13A team knew that they had opportunities in what was the easier of the two groups at the tournament. They began their day against the Foremark B team. Despite being comfortable in defence and having a good share of the possession, the team created few clear cut chances, with the match ending 0-0. The second match against Witham B followed a similar pattern, ending in another 0-0 draw.

Matches against Bromsgrove and Solihull followed. The match against Bromsgrove ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat, with goalkeeper Lily Clancy making some good saves before being beaten late on in the game. Against Solihull, the team did appear tired, conceding two goals. However, we also had some of the best opportunities to score that we had created all day, with Annie Croxford and Bethan Holt both going close towards the end of the game.

All members of the team played with energy and enthusiasm throughout the day. Hannah Mears was a tower of strength in defence, breaking up many attacks, distributing well and taking responsibility for all free hits and corners. Katy Butler ran tirelessly and was effective in both defence and attack. The whole team will continue to work hard and are looking forward to their next match.
